Delete your Standby account

Standby accounts belong to your organization's workspace, so they're created and removed by your workspace's admins. Here's how to have yours deleted, and what happens to your information.

Ask your workspace admin

This is the quickest way. An admin removes you in the Standby web console, under Settings → People with access → Remove, or in the app under Settings → People → Remove from workspace. Your sign-in account is deleted straight away and you can't use Standby any more.

Your name and mobile number may also be on the workspace's on-call list, which is kept separately so rotations can page people. Ask the admin to remove you there too, under On call → People.

Or ask us

Email usprivacy@contact-iq.com from the address you sign in with, and tell us your workspace code. Because the workspace belongs to your organization, we'll pass your request to its admins and help them act on it.

What's kept, and for how long

  • The audit trail of actions you took in Standby is a security record. It isn't deleted early; it expires after 90 or 400 days, depending on your organization's plan.
  • Recovery copies of the database are kept for 35 days, so deleted information can remain there that long.
  • Operational logs, which identify accounts by ID rather than name or email, expire after 30 days.

When an organization stops using Standby — its subscription has ended and its stack has been removed — its whole workspace is deleted 30 days later. The privacy policy has the details.
